Meet Steven King - Employment, Family and Human Rights Law

Steven practices in the areas of employment (wrongful dismissal, discrimination and harassment), family law and criminal law. He also provides employers with legal services such as drafting employment contracts, workplace policies and providing advice concerning termination.
Steven attended the University of Toronto where he received an Honours Bachelor degree in Political Science. He then completed his LL.B. from the University of Leicester School of Law in the United Kingdom where he was a finalist in the Weightmans LLP Negotiations Competition. After his law degree, he articled at a prominent full-service firm in his hometown of Hamilton.
Community Involvement
Steven is passionate about youth and sports mentorship. He served as a supervisor for the YMCA where he managed an after-school program that assisted inner-city youth from low socio-economic backgrounds. Steven has also volunteered with the Hamilton Community Legal clinic where he assisted individuals with their applications to the Ontario Disability Support Program.
Currently, Steven is an active member of the Ontario Bar Association and sits on the Professional Development Committee. In addition, Steven is an advisor to a non-profit organization mandated to create a space for black-owned start-ups in the industries of science, technology, environment, and mathematics. During his free time, Steven enjoys playing and coaching soccer and is an accomplished pianist.
