Shailene is a current articling student who completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology, Immunology & Disease at the University of Toronto in 2019. She then completed an LLB at the University of London (UK), her PGDL at BPP University (UK), a GPLLM at the University of Toronto and an LLM at Osgoode Hall Law School. She is primarily supporting with federal criminal matters as an agent of the PPSC, with an interest in family law, mediation, and arbitration."\
Community Involvement
Shailene is an elected Trustee with the Durham District School Board, representing Oshawa. A proud local alum of Vincent Massey P.S., Pierre Elliott Trudeau P.S., and Maxwell Heights Secondary School, she is a long-time organizer and advocate for anti-racism, anti-oppression, and youth empowerment.
Her work includes leading initiatives like the Durham Black Students’ Network, delivering keynotes and workshops across the province, and working alongside youth involved in the child welfare system.
Outside of her work, she enjoys travelling, learning languages (currently Japanese!), reading, trying new foods, and playing soccer.
