Utsav holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws (B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.)) from India and was called to the Bar in 2019. During his program, Utsav also completed a mini-pupillage at 9 King's Bench Walk in London England, one of the country's leading criminal and common law chambers. Following his call, Utsav appeared before the Supreme Court of India, the High Court of Delhi, and various district courts and tribunals in civil and commercial appellate matters, and practiced in the regulatory compliance at Ernst & Young Law LLP in New Delhi.
Utsav subsequently pursued graduate legal studies at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, where he earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) with Honours. He articled at Kelly Greenway Bruce LLP and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2026, joining the firm as an associate.
Community Involvement
During his time at Osgoode, Utsav volunteered with Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS), a program that brings law students into schools to deliver legal education to youth and foster civic awareness from an early age. He also serves as a mentor with the Foundation For Excellence (FFE), a non-profit organization that provides merit-cum-means scholarships and structured professional support to financially disadvantaged law students across India. Through FFE's mentorship program, Utsav provides one-on-one guidance to law scholars, drawing on his own journey across three legal jurisdictions to inspire the next generation of lawyers entering the profession. Outside of practice, Utsav is an avid reader and a passionate cricket and football buff. A keen golfer, he also enjoys live music and concerts in his spare time and stays active through regular fitness training. He is committed to his roots in the Durham Region and maintains a strong connection to the broader Greater Toronto Area community.
